Relevant experience in Business Development Services support, in the context of the Northern region of Mozambique.
● Knowledge and understanding of the Business Development Services Market in targeted locations
● Knowledge and understanding of the needs from micro & small growing businesses (MSGB) and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME)
● Knowledge and experience of the financial services industry and working with government agencies
● Experience in Cooperative creation, formalization and capacity building
● Experience in designing strategic plans, work plans, revenue strategy and capacity building plans

Quality of Proposal:
● Clear understanding of the consultancy goals, challenges, and objectives
● Clear methodology and approach to the consultancy execution
● Flexibility and adaptability, evidence that the consultant can adjust the approach as needed to achieve the desired outcomes
● Clear plan for measuring and reporting on the progress

Technical Assistance Services for 15 Companies located in the Cuamba District

PRO is a 5-year, 32.2 million dollar project, co-funded by USAID, through FTF Premier, and SDC’s Oholo project. It is receiving proposals for technical assistance services for 15 companies located in the district of Cuamba, Niassa province. The PRO project aims to increase the incomes and employment of women and young people in northern Mozambique, leading to a more competitive, inclusive, resilient and sustainable market system that reduces poverty and increases food security. The program adopts catalytic and facilitative interventions, with a particular focus on supporting businesses owned by women and young people.

Scope of Work

The contractor’s tasks shall cover the following key exercises:

Train 15 companies in Management Skills; Supporting the preparation of business plans; Connecting entrepreneurs with financial and banking institutions (submission of financing proposals); Post-financing follow-up over a period of 6 months.

Expected result:

  • 15 companies trained in business management matters
  • 15 Business Plans Submitted for Financing
