The Partners in Food Solutions (PFS)-TechnoServe Alliance matches the expertise of leading global food companies with the needs of African-based food processing companies in Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania and Zambia.


Ganadería Empresarial

Ganadería Empresarial (GANE) seeks to improve the livelihoods of smallholder livestock producers in Nicaragua. With support from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, TechnoServe is helping 4,000 farmers increase productivity, strengthen producer organizations and connect to higher-value markets.


Conservation Cotton Initiative

With support from luxury clothing brand Edun, TechnoServe is helping 8,500 smallholder cotton farmers in northern Uganda rebuild their livelihoods and recover from a destructive civil war. The Conservation Cotton Initiative (CCI) aims to improve farmers’ cotton incomes by encouraging the adoption of better agronomic and post-harvest practices.


East Africa Dairy Development

Funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and implemented in partnership with Heifer International, the East Africa Dairy Development (EADD) program is designed to boost the milk yields and incomes of small-scale farmers so they can lift their families and communities out of poverty.


The Haiti Hope Project

The Haiti Hope Project is a five-year, $9.5 million public-private partnership among businesses, multilateral development institutions, the U.S. Government and nonprofits, designed to create sustainable economic opportunities for Haitian mango farmers and their families.

Impulsa Tu Empresa

Supported by the Argidius Foundation, Impulsa Tu Empresa aims to help more than 800 small and growing businesses boost their growth. Through mentoring, business training and business plan competitions, the program aims to increase sales by $13 million and generate 750 new jobs in Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Burkina Faso.

Project Nurture

A partnership with The Coca-Cola Company and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Project Nurture aims to help more than 50,000 small-scale mango and passion fruit farmers in Kenya and Uganda double their fruit incomes. TechnoServe and its partners are working with farmers to identify new market opportunities, improve productivity and develop strong farmer business groups.

Strengthening Rural Youth Development through Enterprise

TechnoServe is partnering with The MasterCard Foundation to help rural young women and men in East Africa transition to economic independence. The Strengthening Rural Youth Development through Enterprise (STRYDE) program delivers a comprehensive package of services including skills training, business development and mentoring to young people ages 18 to 30 in Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda.

Technical Assistance Facility

TechnoServe serves as the manager of the Technical Assistance Facility (TAF), which supports the African Agriculture Fund, a private equity fund, to address food security challenges across Africa. TAF provides technical assistance to small and growing businesses (SGBs) invested in by the African Agriculture Fund, and improves linkages between enterprises and smallholder outgrowers.


Connected Farmer Alliance

The Connected Farmer Alliance (CFA) is a public-private partnership that seeks to promote commercially sustainable mobile agriculture solutions and increase productivity and revenues for 500,000 smallholder farmers across Kenya, Tanzania and Mozambique. The program also aims to increase revenues for agribusinesses and agricultural value chain service providers.


CBLD: Community-Based Livelihood Development (CBLD) For Women and Children in Swaziland

CBLD has three primary objectives: (1) to improve the livelihood capabilities and economic security of vulnerable households, particularly women and OVC caregivers within these households; (2) to protect and promote the rights of women and children; and (3) to strengthen the capacity and coordination of the government, communities and other organizations to protect and promote the social and economic well-being of women and children.

A three-year program funded by the EU to address food security in a holistic manner by focusing on capacity building at the household level, specifically targeting improved farm and business management by program participants.
