TechnoServe business advisor at cooperative coffee wet mill in Ethiopia

A TechnoServe business advisor works at Shegole cooperative coffee wet mill in Ethiopia. The country is one of Africa’s largest producers of Arabica and washed Arabica coffee. However, despite the potential to produce some of the best specialty coffee in the world, many smallholder farmers are unable to tap into these premium markets, often held back by a combination of low productivity, limited processing capabilities, and poor market access. Shegole is one of the many cooperatives across western Ethiopia where TechnoServe has helped farmers to build their agricultural, processing, and business capabilities in order to improve their crop quality and sustainability and earn better incomes.
