TechnoServe conducted Enrich Engage Enable, a business plan competition for social enterprises in five districts of northern Karnataka. From 79 contestants working in diverse industries, the program shortlisted 30 entrepreneurs, each of whom subsequently received 200 hours of business training and mentorship from established entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and industry leaders.
Organic production has been a priority in the northern state of Uttarakhand. However, little value addition or processing happens within the state. TechnoServe is establishing a Business Development Cell as part of the Uttarakhand Organic Commodities Board, supporting private enterprises throughout the organic supply chain.
