Prosper Cashew kicks off activities in Ghana

In January 2023, Prosper Cashew signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with two Ghanaian processors, Usibras, the largest cashew processor in the country, and Rabboni, a cashew processor. This signing marks the beginning of our technical and commercial support to cashew processing companies in Ghana and paves the way for many more activities to strengthen the cashew industry both locally and regionally.

Following the signing of the MoU, a team from Usibras visited processing plants in Côte d’Ivoire in April to explore alternative technologies, improve efficiency and cost management. Under the guidance of Prosper Cashew’s technical support team, the Usibras team, led by Production Manager Raymond Aberbi, visited ICN, FoodsCo and CICOA processing plants in Bouaké, Béoumi and Yamoussoukro from April 11 to 18. According to the participants, this visit that was organized with the financial support of USDA’s Food for Progress program helped them to gain knowledge of improved and new management systems, especially best practices, which can be of great benefit to local cashew processing in Ghana.
