Chile has a robust and diverse national economy, but its benefits are far from equally distributed. The country has one of the highest levels of income inequality in the world, leading to social vulnerability.

TechnoServe is a leader in Chile’s entrepreneurship development sector. Since 2008, we have supported over 3,000 enterprising people across 8 regions of the country, helping them to develop business skills, build market linkages, and access funding. In 2017 alone, over 900 micro- and small business owners – 64 percent of whom are women – benefited from TechnoServe’s work, creating more than $7. million in increased financial wages and income. TechnoServe has developed strong relationships with public and private partners, working across various sectors – such as mining, energy, and banking – to generate shared value by strengthening entrepreneurship and employability skills, developing local procurement systems, and increasing financial inclusion.
