TechnoServe Earns Top Charity Navigator Rating For Tenth Straight Year
Four-star rating places international development nonprofit in top 1% of rated charities
Washington, D.C. (January 6, 2016) – Charity Navigator has again awarded TechnoServe its highest-possible four-star rating for sound fiscal management, accountability and transparency. This marks the tenth consecutive year in which TechnoServe has earned this designation.
“Only 1% of the charities we rate have received at least 10 consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that TechnoServe outperforms most other charities in America,” said Charity Navigator CEO Michael Thatcher. “This ‘exceptional’ designation from Charity Navigator differentiates TechnoServe from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust.”
Founded in 1968, TechnoServe is known for its mission of developing business solutions to international development challenges. Its work was also recognized this past year in outlets like The Economist, The Wall Street Journal, CNN.com and TIME.com.
Each year, Charity Navigator evaluates more than 8,000 charities based on seven metrics of financial performance and 17 measures of accountability and transparency.
“We are honored to be named one of the top-ranking nonprofits in the U.S.,” said TechnoServe CEO William Warshauer. “This recognition validates TechnoServe’s efforts to transform every donor’s dollar into lasting impact for the men and women we work with to lift themselves out of poverty and into a better future.”
