For more than a decade, TechnoServe has partnered with farmers, entrepreneurs, and companies across Mexico to create lasting economic opportunities.

Mexico is a country of profound contrasts—marked by robust economic potential, world-class corporations, and advanced research institutions, yet also by persistent inequality, particularly in rural regions and within the agricultural sector.

Despite the country’s economic diversity, many communities continue to face significant barriers: limited access to market information, scarce technical assistance, limited financing, and weak commercial connections. Most farms belong to smallholder producers managing very small plots of land, which restricts their participation in formal markets and inhibits income growth.

Using a business approach to development, TechnoServe works side-by-side with people in rural and marginalized communities, helping them build competitive enterprises, connect to growing markets, and steward natural resources for future generations. Our programs are designed to close structural gaps, strengthen value chains, and ensure that economic opportunities are both accessible and sustainable.
