Thomas C. Barry
President and Chief Executive Officer, Zephyr Management LP
Thomas Barry founded the investment management company Zephyr Management LP in 1994. With offices in Bangalore and London, Zephyr manages emerging markets funds, both in private equity and in listed securities. Zephyr Management has managed private equity funds in Africa, Mexico and Korea. Tom served as President and CEO of Rockefeller & Co., the investment management arm of the Rockefeller family, from 1983 to 1993. He held previous positions at T. Rowe Price Associates Inc. from 1969 to 1982, including President of T. Rowe Price New Horizons Funds Inc.
Tom is active in numerous nonprofit institutions: he is a member of the Yale President’s Council on International Affairs and the Dean’s Council of the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University; a trustee of the University School in Cleveland, Ohio, and the Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, Connecticut; and a board member of TechnoServe, Summer Search, ACCION and Trickle Up.
Tom holds an MBA from Harvard Business School (1969) and an undergraduate degree from Yale University (1966), where he majored in Latin American Studies. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst.
