TechnoServe Named a Top Destination for Purpose-Driven Careers in New Escape 100 List

The nonprofit received the highest score in the “Mission” category on Escape the City’s annual list

Arlington, VA (May 12, 2022) – Yesterday, international nonprofit TechnoServe earned the ninth spot on The Escape 100 list, an annual ranking of organizations compiled by Escape the City, a global community dedicated to helping people “find work that matters to them and the world.”

This year, The Escape 100 received more than 13,000 nominations. In order to rank companies and organizations as destinations for rewarding and fulfilling careers, the list evaluates employers along six criteria: impact, planet, mission, people, innovation, and B-corp certification. The scores are determined in part by verified, anonymous reviews from employees around the globe.

Describing TechnoServe, Escape the City Chief Employer Happiness Officer Jake Pittman wrote, “TechnoServe was our highest scoring organisation in the ‘Mission’ category in this year’s Escape 100. It comes as little surprise with the extensive impact they have across Africa, Latin America and Asia, where they help to employ, upskill, connect and empower enterprising locals.

“Their work has directly impacted the lives of millions of people living in impoverished communities by bringing private sector practices to those who would most benefit from them. With a significant focus on sustainability and a raft of glowing employee reviews, it’s clear that TechnoServe is delivering on what it means to be a purposeful organisation and a progressive employer.”

“At TechnoServe, we understand that we can only fulfill our mission of fighting poverty by recruiting and nurturing a world-class team,” said Shawn Mood, TechnoServe’s chief human capital officer. “We are proud to be named one of The Escape 100 and excited to continue attracting talented professionals who are looking to use their skills and knowledge to make a real and lasting difference in the world.”
