Our Hiring Process

To ensure a fair and transparent process, all positions at TechnoServe are openly competed for. While the exact timeline varies by role, most recruitments follow this cycle:

  2. Review & Screening: Our team rigorously reviews every application against the role’s requirements. Top candidates are invited to a 30-minute screening interview to discuss motivations, experience, and expectations.
  3. Interviews & Assessment: Shortlisted candidates typically participate in two rounds of panel interviews. Some roles include a brief, skills-based assessment (such as a writing exercise or technical case study) directly related to the role’s responsibilities.
  4. Offer & Feedback: Once a finalist is selected, we conduct professional reference checks before extending an offer. We value your time—All applicants are notified once a selection is made.

How do I stay updated on new opportunities?

You can create a “Presence” on our Job Board. This allows you to set up custom job alerts based on your expertise and location, ensuring you’re the first to know when a role opens that matches your profile. Even if you don’t apply immediately, our recruiters use this database to source talent for upcoming projects.

Are all listed roles still active?

Yes. We keep our career site updated in real-time. If a position is visible, we are actively accepting applications. We encourage you to apply early, as our hiring managers review resumes on a rolling basis.

Do I need specific work authorization to apply?

Empowering local talent is at the heart of our mission—95% of our staff are nationals of the countries where they work. For most roles, we prioritize candidates with existing work authorization in that location. However, for specialized global roles, we may provide support for work authorization if the candidate is the best fit for the mission.

What kind of feedback will I receive?

We hold ourselves to high standards of transparency. Every applicant will be notified of their status once a selection is made. If you reach the interview stage and are not selected, we are committed to providing specific feedback to help you in your professional journey.

I wasn’t selected for a role; can I apply for another?

Absolutely. While you can only apply to a specific vacancy once, we encourage you to apply for other roles that align with your “portfolio” of skills. Many of our team members applied for multiple roles before finding their perfect fit.

Do you offer internships or volunteer roles?

Yes. We offer paid and unpaid internships for students, which are listed on our job board. For mid-career professionals looking to volunteer their expertise, our Fellows Program offers high-impact placements ranging from 3–12 months.

Does TechnoServe ever charge a fee for applications?

No. TechnoServe will never ask for payment at any stage of the recruitment process. All official communication will come from a @technoserve.org OR @tns.org email address.
