Bruce McNamer
President and CEO
Before joining TechnoServe in 2004, Bruce McNamer's career spanned the public and private sectors. McNamer was a senior executive/founder at start-ups Verified Identity Pass (Clear ID), Appfluent Technology and Varsity Group. He worked as an investment banker at Morgan Stanley and a management consultant at McKinsey & Company. McNamer was also a White House Fellow at the National Economic Council and a Peace Corps Volunteer in Paraguay. He has an AB from Harvard and a JD/MBA from Stanford. He is a Montana native.
James Nehmer
Chief Financial Officer
Prior to joining TechnoServe in 2007, James Nehmer was CFO at FINCA International (a nonprofit financial service provider with approximate revenues of $50 million and 26 affiliates in 23 countries in Africa, Latin America and Eurasia). Nehmer also worked for DAI in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, first as CFO and later as CEO/Managing Director of the National Microfinance Bank in Dar es Salaam. Nehmer spent eight years working for McGladdery & Pullen, LLP. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Concordia College and is a licensed CPA.
David Browning
Senior Vice President, Coffee Initiative
David Browning previously served as TechnoServe’s Regional Director for Latin America. Prior to joining TechnoServe, he worked for McKinsey & Company as a management consultant. Browning has also held a range of managerial positions in the manufacturing, petroleum and retail industries. He holds an MBA from Yale University, as well as a bachelor’s degree in marketing and a master’s degree in advanced finance from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia.
Simon Winter
Senior Vice President, Development
Simon Winter, who previously led TechnoServe’s Africa operations, has more than 20 years of economic development experience in both the private and public sectors. He has worked as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company in South Africa, and as an independent development consultant. He was also Head of Planning for the Ministry of Works, Transport and Communications in Botswana. He started his professional career in corporate retail banking at Barclays Bank PLC. Winter has a PhD in economics from London University’s School of Oriental and African Studies, a master's degree in development economics from the University of East Anglia, and a bachelor's degree in economics from Bristol University. In addition to his role at TechnoServe, Winter is also a founding Executive Committee member of ANDE - the Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs.
Kevin M. Horan
Vice President, Human Resources
Prior to joining TechnoServe in 2008, Kevin Horan spent over 20 years in the aviation industry holding a variety of operational and leadership positions. Most recently, he served as the Managing Director, HR and Benefit Services at US Airways. Prior to the US Airways and America West Airlines merger, he was responsible for the organization’s overall HR delivery. He has also worked as an independent consultant on international HR issues and employee and organizational development exercises for organizations such as the US Air Force, MGM Grand Hotels and Resorts, Total System Services, and other major corporations and government entities. Horan holds an MBA with a concentration in International HR from the University of Dallas and a Bachelor’s degree from Davidson College in Davidson, NC.
Brent Habig
Regional Director, Western and Southern Africa
Brent joined TechnoServe in 2008 as Regional Linkages Director and has been leading the regional new business effort within West and Southern Africa. Previously, he managed SME investment portfolios in Liberia and Guinea as Regional Investment Advisor for the United States African Development Foundation. Before entering the development profession, Brent was founder and CEO of Tigris Consulting, a consultancy focused on global sourcing and supply chain consolidation. Brent has a B.A. from Oberlin College and completed the Owner/President Management Program at Harvard Business School.
Kindra Halvorson
Regional Director, East Africa
Kindra Halvorson previously served as TechnoServe's Deputy Director for East Africa. Prior to joining TechnoServe she worked with Population Services International as Program Manager in Southern Africa, Senior Program Manager in Asia, and, most recently, as Senior Manager of Metrics in Washington, DC. Halvorson also worked for McKinsey and Co. in Johannesburg. She has a master's degree from Columbia Business School and a bachelor's degree in International Studies from the University of Minnesota.
David Williams
Regional Director, Latin America and the Caribbean
David Williams previously held positions within TechnoServe including Regional Director of South America, and Regional Cashew Project Coordinator in Africa. Prior to joining TechnoServe he worked as a management consultant for Bain & Company in Australia and Spain. Williams holds a bachelor of economics and a bachelor of laws from the University of New South Wales, Sydney.

Stacey Daves-Ohlin has a law degree (Cum Laude) from the University of Bridgeport School of Law and a BA in political science (Magna Cum Laude) from Western Connecticut State University.
