She Creates Impact

Just look at the numbers …

  • If women participated as fully as men in our economies, it is estimated that $28 trillion (or 26 percent) would be added to the annual GDP (McKinsey & Company).
  • When women control more of the household income, children benefit more as a result of increased spending on food, healthcare, home improvements and education (World Bank).
  • If women farmers had the same access as men to productive resources, their agricultural yields would increase by 20 to 30 percent, reducing the number of undernourished people in the world by 100 to 150 million (Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations).

Economic empowerment of women is critical for international development, yet women in poverty are disproportionately affected by violence and discrimination.

To address these constraints, TechnoServe develops innovative programs that achieve more powerful, effective, and impactful outcomes for women and girls.

When we invest in economic opportunities for a woman, she creates impact – not just in terms of immediate income, but for the sustainable economic well-being of her family, her community, and the world.

“I believe that women are the backbone of our society and the solution to many of our pressing social and environmental problems. We just need to give women the tools and resources to level the playing field to succeed, not a handout. Thank you for all you do and making it possible for me to contribute in a small way to this amazing and important work!”
