Funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and implemented in partnership with Heifer International, the East Africa Dairy Development (EADD) program is designed to boost the milk yields and incomes of small-scale farmers so they can lift their families and communities out of poverty.
A partnership with The Coca-Cola Company and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Project Nurture aimed to help more than 50,000 small-scale mango and passion fruit farmers in Kenya and Uganda double their fruit incomes. TechnoServe and its partners worked with farmers to identify new market opportunities, improve productivity and develop strong farmer business groups.
In partnership with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, TechnoServe’s Innovation in Outcome Measurement (IOM) project aims to identify breakthrough innovations capable of transforming agriculture and to develop a framework for scaling these innovations for business use.
The Women's Advancement in Rural Development and Agriculture program provides technical assistance to producer groups and facilitates producer group formation with the aim of empowering rural women and improving their lives and communities.
TechnoServe is an implementing partner in the African Cashew Initiative, which works to improve the volume and value of cashews produced and processed in Africa. In Ghana, TechnoServe has provided four cashew processors with intensive technical assistance, helping create more than 1,000 jobs.
In parallel to the Cocoa Livelihoods Program (CLP), TechnoServe was a key implementer in the African Cocoa Initiative (ACI), which sought to institutionalize effective public and private sector models for sustainable productivity growth and improve food security on cocoa farms in West and Central Africa
TechnoServe is a key implementer in the Cocoa Livelihoods Program, which seeks to double the incomes of one third of West African cocoa farming households within 10 years. Since 2009, TechnoServe has trained nearly 5,000 Ivoirian farmers on input application and credit management.
TechnoServe is an implementing partner in the African Cashew Initiative, which works to increase the quantity and quality of cashews produced and processed on the continent. In Burkina Faso, TechnoServe helps processors improve and expand their operations through employee trainings, technology transfer and other critical forms of technical assistance.
