Impulsa Tu Empresa aims to help small and growing businesses boost their growth through mentoring and business training. Since its launch in 2012, the program has increased the sales of over 1,000 businesses by $38 million and generated 1,400 new jobs in Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Burkina Faso.
TechnoServe and Peet’s Coffee are partnering to train more than 500 coffee farmers in Alotenango, Guatemala to increase their coffee incomes in the face of rising production costs.
TechnoServe together with the Trade Facilitation Office of Canada, Global Affairs Canada, and Canadian coffee chain Tim Hortons is implementing a four-year initiative to train 1,000 farmers in agronomic and sustainability practices in eastern Guatemala. This project aims to pilot innovative approaches to improve gender equality and opportunities for youth in the coffee business.
Latin America's youth unemployment rate is nearly 30 percent. Youth face unique challenges in obtaining formal employment or becoming successful entrepreneurs. Crece Tu Empresa, TechnoServe's program in partnership with Citi Foundation, is working to address the challenge of youth unemployment in Guatemala, El Salvador, and Panama.
In partnership with McDonald’s, TechnoServe implemented a four-year initiative to sustainably improve coffee farmers’ income and yields using climate-resilient practices. The project helped more than 15,000 participating farmers – mostly from indigenous highland communities, and more than 50 percent of whom were women – to increase their incomes by an average of 35 percent.
