Our success in creating business solutions to rural poverty is due to our talented and highly committed team. TechnoServe employs about 500 people, the vast majority of them host-country nationals working in the field; we also supplement our staff with volunteer consultants. Many of our business advisors and volunteer consultants are former management consultants or industry experts. Our senior staff blend world-class business knowledge with international development experience and a passion to help people uplift themselves. Our Board of Directors and Advisory Council (heavily drawn from key sectors such as finance and management consulting) and our members guide our innovation and growth. We also benefit from the expertise and support of a wide range of partners, including global corporations, public-sector institutions and individuals.
Gupta supported the development of a competitive honey industry in Swaziland. “For me, this was a chance to connect to the work I’m passionate about—alleviating poverty through entrepreneurship,” she said. “It has been incredibly rewarding, both professionally and personally.”
