Jeff Chrisfield, TechnoServe Chief Financial Officer

Jeff Chrisfield

Chief Financial Officer

As Chief Financial Officer, Jeff Chrisfield oversees TechnoServe’s financial operations globally, ensuring compliance within TechnoServe’s many countries of operation while maximizing financial efficiency on behalf of our partners and clients.

A Certified Public Accountant by training, Jeff began his career as an auditor and consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers and later served as Controller in a for-profit bio-medical contractor. With the desire to contribute more meaningfully, Jeff joined the African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) in 2002, where he served as Chief Financial Officer and ultimately Chief Operating Officer. In addition to overseeing significant financial growth (including a budget that tripled in growth and a six-fold increase in assets), he was key in various programmatic initiatives, including the establishment of a for-profit impact investing vehicle. Jeff holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from American University.

Even when working for a conservation organization, poverty was always the underlying issue. As a parent myself, I identified with the struggle of hardworking people struggling to support their families. People with limited economic freedom are too often forced into unsustainable choices. I was attracted to TechnoServe because of its approach of empowering people to lift themselves out of poverty through commercial opportunities and entrepreneurship.”
