Brent Habig is the Vice President for West and Southern Africa. In this capacity, he is responsible for leading the organization’s strategy and operations for more than 10 countries in the region.
Previously, Brent managed small and medium enterprise investment portfolios in Liberia and Guinea as a regional investment advisor for the United States African Development Foundation. Before entering the development profession, Brent was founder and CEO of Tigris Consulting, a consultancy focused on global sourcing and supply chain consolidation.
Brent has a B.A. from Oberlin College and completed the Owner/President Management Program at Harvard Business School.
“Unlike some of my colleagues, I was not always interested in development. In fact, I ran my own for-profit business from New York City. But 9/11 prompted me to look beyond my business pursuits to understand and address the lack of business growth opportunities in the developing world. This led to me sell my business in 2004 and move to Africa, where I have lived since.”
