TechnoServe serves as the manager of the Technical Assistance Facility (TAF), which supports the African Agriculture Fund, a private equity fund, to address food security challenges across Africa. TAF provides technical assistance to small- and medium-sized enterprises invested in by the African Agriculture Fund, and improves linkages between enterprises and smallholder outgrowers.

TechnoServe worked with a range of partners to develop a competitive cashew industry in Tanzania. The program, completed in 2010, organized farmers into business groups, helping them to produce higher-quality nuts and linking them to premium markets.

TechnoServe helped small businesses export ethnic products to the sizable market of Salvadorans living in the United States. We worked with nine companies to improve their production, processing and export of traditional products such as pastries, frozen fruits, cheeses and other food items.
