TechnoServe Earns Charity Navigator’s Highest Rating for Fourth Straight Year

Designation puts TechnoServe among top 8 percent of American charities

FEBRUARY 19, 2010 — TechnoServe has been awarded Charity Navigator’s highest possible rating for the fourth consecutive year, putting the international development nonprofit in select company.

Only 8 percent of the charities rated by Charity Navigator have been awarded a four-star, or “exceptional” rating for at least four straight years. TechnoServe earned the designation based on its ability to efficiently manage and grow its finances.

Charity Navigator is the premier evaluator of U.S. charities. The organization scrutinizes the financial health of more than 5,000 philanthropic organizations to help donors make informed decisions.

“Especially in tough economic times, donors want to know that their money is making an impact,” said TechnoServe President and CEO Bruce McNamer. “This recognition from Charity Navigator is the latest proof of TechnoServe’s dedication to its mission of harnessing the power of private enterprise to provide people opportunities to lift themselves out of poverty.”

About TechnoServe: TechnoServe is leading a movement that empowers people in the developing world to build businesses that break the cycle of poverty.
