Agribusiness Development Program

The Agribusiness Development Program (ADP) offers business support services to more than 14,400 small-scale dairy farmers, organizes farmers into dairy business hubs, and builds the capacity of business managers and employees. Notably, the program helped establish the first dairy plant in Kenya owned almost entirely by women from the Maasai community; situated in Kajiado County, the Maasai Women’s Dairy Co-operative aims to improve the livelihoods of over 10,000 pastoralist women and their households by increasing dairy milk production, consumption and market access. Farmers are also trained on natural resource management best practices including using renewable energy sources, tree planting and water harvesting.
