Vice President of Human Resources


I. GENERAL INFORMATION:

II. PRIMARY PURPOSE & FUNCTION:

  • This position will provide the overall human resources leadership for the organization while also acting as a fully-integrated member of the Senior Management Team. The Vice President of HR will report to the CEO & President.
  • The Vice President will identify organizational needs and develop and implement global human resources strategies, programs and policies that enable successful execution of business strategies.
  • The Vice President will establish HR best practices and ensure operational excellence in the delivery of HR products and services.
  • Position location is Washington, DC or Norwalk, CT.

III. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review and revise existing HR policies, develop new policies where needed.
  • Compliance with and global understanding of our HR policies and procedures.
  • Develop and disseminate useful, adaptable tools to country programs for a range of local HR activities - recruiting, compensation, orientation, training, retention and performance management.
  • Lead strategic thinking and implementation of compensation philosophy for US and expatriate hires and work with the Development Division to procure funding for Volunteer Consultant program.
  • Develop and implement a best practice and streamlined performance management system for use throughout the organization.
  • Coordinate and manage our strategic recruiting, ensuring that TechnoServe attracts best-in-class candidates.
  • Develop and maintain an affirmative action plan.
  • Travel domestically and internationally (required).

IV. KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree required.
  • 10+ years of HR Experience, including significant experience as an HR leader (multinational company experience highly desirable).
  • Facilitation, training, employee relations, performance management and change management skills.
  • Strong collaboration, influence, communication, interpersonal and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of US employment laws.
  • Strong business acumen and customer focus.
