Regional Gender Advisor


I. GENERAL INFORMATION:

II. PRIMARY PURPOSE & FUNCTION:

TechnoServe is now recruiting a Regional Gender Advisor based in Kigali, Rwanda. The successful candidate will guide overall gender strategy and implementation activities for TechnoServe’s coffee programs in East Africa, lead efforts to ensure gender-neutral impact across all coffee programs and coordinate with M&E team to ensure gender-specific social impact is captured and that all women participants’ feedback is actively sought.

III. KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) in Women’s Studies or relevant major.
  • 3+ years of experience in a gender-related field, M&E experience a plus.
  • Experience in and knowledge of gender issues specific to Rwanda, Tanzania, Kenya and Ethiopia highly desirable.
  • Substantive knowledge of gender equality and women's empowerment issues.
  • Fluency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Swahili skills preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural skills.
  • Ability to objectively coach employees and management on complex and sensitive gender issues.
