I. GENERAL INFORMATION:

II. PRIMARY PURPOSE & FUNCTION:

We are seeking Program Directors to manage business programs in Ethiopia, Kenya and Tanzania. They will directly supervise a country program and staff in order to achieve target goals.

III. KEY ACTIVITIES:

• Develop, present and implement annual goals and objectives of the country program
• Develop, lead and manage the program on a day-to-day basis, including developing a client business portfolio; managing client performance; monitoring and evaluation; and quality and cost-effectiveness control
• Communicate program progress, findings and achievements internally and externally
• Develop, lead and manage regulatory reviews to support the development of a strong enabling environemnt for the industry
• Actively engage in industry initiatives and partnerships with key industry stakeholders
• Develop, maintain and utilize networks to support the growth of TechnoServe-affiliated businesses and assist TechnoServe in executing its work under the program
• Manage budget and relationships with financial institutions

IV. REQUIREMENTS:

• Masters Degree in Administration/Management or a related field, with a minimum of five years experience in business development/management, proposal writing, fundraising, business plan design/execution, program design and management, and a working knowledge of economic development
• Strong interpersonal and management skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong private-sector experience and entrepreneurial skills
• Strong financial analysis and management skills
• Previous development experience
• Good knowledge of agro-processing operations and marketing (preferred)
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally when necessary
