TechnoServe helped revive the cashew processing industry in Mozambique by working with entrepreneurs to establish new factories. Between 2002 and 2008, Mozambique went from processing zero cashews to becoming the largest processor in Africa and the fourth-largest processor in the world. The industry now employs more than 5,000 workers, with annual sales of about $25 million.

TechnoServe aims to transform entire industries through our work in the developing world. In case you missed it, read what Bruce McNamer, our president and CEO, had to say about these efforts during a recent visit to Mozambique.
