Cocoa is a major source of income for smallholder farmers in Côte d’Ivoire, the world’s largest producer of cocoa beans. TechnoServe is an implementing partner in the Cocoa Livelihoods Program, an initiative led by the World Cocoa Federation that seeks to double the incomes of one-third of cocoa farming households in five West African countries, including Côte d’Ivoire. The program aims to increase farmer incomes through improved knowledge and productivity, better cocoa quality, crop diversification and improved supply chain efficiencies.
