Sisters Liset (center) and Ximena Contreras of Bolivia developed an idea to turn shells from Brazil nuts into fuel pellets. With help from a TechnoServe business plan competition, the Contreras sisters launched a business, PelletBol, to commercialize their idea.

With help from a TechnoServe business plan competition, the Contreras sisters launched a business, PelletBol, to commercialize their idea. Last year, the sisters were chosen as finalists for the Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards, an international competition that aims to support projects by women entrepreneurs. Above, Liset and Ximena discuss their presentation with an advisor from the awards.
